Assistant General Manager Job Functions

The primary job functions of the Assistant General Manager are broken into 4 key categories:

1. Leadership:

o As an AGM, you have the opportunity to assist in leading the team by setting a positive example for employees in all aspects of the job. AGM should always conduct themselves in a professional manner and display characteristics of leadership. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Consistently executing sales strategies and must-see behaviors with excellence.

- Maintaining and driving productivity.

- Following all company policies and programs.

- Exhibiting a positive, upbeat, and encouraging attitude.

- Managing with INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and KNOWLEDGE that promote the culture, values, and mission of Buff City Soap.

- Providing exceptional client services to all clients through:

a) Exemplifying a “client comes first” attitude at all times.

b) Monitoring production levels to keep up consistent stock supply.

c) Handling any client complaints/concerns when GM is not present at store.

- Dressing the part by following Management dress code policy every shift worked. AGMs are to dress for success and present themselves professionally. Clients should know that you are a member of management based on your appearance.

2. Sales Development and Team Building:

o As an AGM, you will have the opportunity and are expected to assist in developing all Soap Consultants through:

- Constant coaching, role plays, and feedback (minimum of 2 coaching and/or role play forms per shift).

- Positive praise when deserved.

- Monitoring productivity and driving sales.

- Holding team members accountable for their actions.

- Motivating staff and boosting Soap Consultants’ morale.

- AGM’s are required to work a 5 day workweek of 32 hours per week (minimum), and this will consist of primarily nights and weekends to promote development of Soap Consultants, as the AGM schedule should be developed around GM schedule.

- Assisting with training and development of new hires.

- Assist in community outreach by marketing to stores in designated areas to include pre-store opening and as deemed necessary by upper-level management.

- Strongly encouraged to share any post from stores local posting on social media to any personal social media accounts.

3. Operational Task:

o As an AGM, you will continually be challenged to grow in your position by assisting in the daily management of the salon, which will include:

- Monitoring store production of product and ensuring stock levels meet par.

- Complete one inventory spot checks per shift. GM/DM may require additional spot checks based on shrink percent of store.

- Monitoring store labor to prevent overage.

- Enforcing breaks (including your own).

- Working around the schedule of the General Manager (your schedule will consist primarily of nights and weekends).

- Assigning Soap Consultants additional tasks to keep employees busy during down time.

- Open communication with GM about all aspects of the salon.

- Completing any additional task that GM assigns (example: GM/DM may require you to complete AGM weekly checklist.)

- Ability to answer phones professionally and relay important information to General Manager.

- Conduct curbside order transactions over the phone.

- Assist in development of party scheduling, planning, and execution.

4. Daily/Monthly Cleaning:

o As an AGM, you will have the opportunity to promote a clean environment for our guests by:

-Verifying that daily cleaning from previous day was completed if opening (complete any items that were not completed). Follow up and accountability should follow to associates that did not complete daily cleaning duties.

- Completing daily cleaning list every shift worked.

- Verifying all cleaning tasks upon completion and providing feedback to staff.

- Completing an SVC on your first shift of the week and properly communicating specific salon needs to staff.

- Utilizing any down time as an opportunity to clean!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
